Nitinol Reimagined: Confluent Expands to Hyderabad

Confluent Medical Technologies has inaugurated a new nitinol wire manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, marking a significant expansion of its global medical device supply chain.

The Nitinol Wire Center of Excellence spans approximately 26,000 sq. ft. and is designed to scale up production capacity in response to growing global demand for advanced medical components. Nitinol—a nickel-titanium alloy known for its shape-memory and superelastic properties—is widely used in minimally invasive medical devices, and the new facility will serve as a dedicated hub for its production.

The Hyderabad plant is compliant with ISO 13485 standards, ensuring adherence to global quality benchmarks for medical device manufacturing. It is engineered to produce high-precision wires with tight dimensional tolerances required for critical healthcare applications.

According to company leadership, the investment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its global manufacturing network, reduce lead times, and ensure a consistent, high-quality supply to medical device manufacturers. The facility is also expected to support faster product development cycles, with lead times of around four weeks.
